Last Sunday I did a long ride in the National Forest with someone who is actively sorting out the trails between Crawfordville Highway and Springhill Rd. The reason I don’t mention his name is because these trails apparently aren’t open to bikes… or anyone for that matter. Which seems like a waste to me.
What I did sunday looks like this.

I need to get down there and ride Munson Hills proper and the new “Twilight Zone” trail. Judging by the map on John Kalin’s site a big ole loop could be hooked up.
Food Tip: Dump a bunch of peanuts in your mouth crunch em up a little (don’t swallow) and then take a big bite of a banana. Now chew. Dang that’s good!
That’s all trail that we(and by “we”, I mean the moto guys) got the boot from, after too many illiterates ignored warnings, and kept going bogging through the mudlands. The twilight trail is an old 11 mile loop that Big Tony and I used to ride moto style after work. There’s still alot of hard feelings with some of the Woodville moto guys who built Twilight, rode it for 15 years, and are now no longer allowed back. I’ve linked all that trail together while twisting throttles, but never by pedal. Is it still whooped out, and all sandy in the corners?
There are a few whoop sections. I like pumpin humps…. but not to many humps. They’re spread out so when you get to them they’re fun again.
I don’t remember it being very sandy. There was a lot of pine needles and leaves though so that probably helped.
Really all it needs is some trimming of the eye gougers and knuckle/arm scratchers. There’s some trail debris like pine cone gardens and such but nothing bad.
That trail is a Very, Very old part of the T.T.R. enduro trail that they ran back in the 70’s that was also ran in the dark @ local events for T.T.R.
