New Frankenbike in the garage
After a margarita (or two) I couldn’t stand it anymore and had to get one of those surplus chinese carbon frames off eBay. Well I guess all carbon is chinese so I guess it’s just a cheap surplus carbon frame.
I’ve thrown it together with some parts from the garage bins and BLAM here it is.
Only issue at the moment is the front derailleur. It’s not doing a very good job of keep the chain on the big ring. I think it must be an 8 sp so I gotta do something about that.
Rides good. It’s light. 1320g for the frame. I stomp the pedals and it goes without any boing boing. Especially running a little bit of floodgate on the SID. BAM!
I don’t really see myself racing this bike unless….
It’s real muddy.
The course is nothing but steep climbs and steep descents. I think this bike would jam at the Carters Lake track.
Think I’m gonna get some of the 3M helicopter rotor tape to put on the downtube to protect it from flying rocks.
